Making his 2nd appearance on the GPL Podcast is Randy Johnson from the Star Tribune. We talked about the previous BigTen first round games and also previewed this weekends semifinal games.

We celebrate a regular season BigTen Championship with the one and only Pat Micheletti! The Gophers blanked the BADger over the weekend with a combined score of 13-0! We cover that along with some speculation on what is happening with Wisconsin with their huge drop this season.

Another big sweep and the Gophers killed some demons at Penn State. They also signed probably the biggest recruit for next season as well, so things are going well. BUT... It's BADger week and of course that means that we get Todd Milewski on the show to talk about all things Wisconsin Hockey.

The Gophers hit the road and got a HUGE sweep against Ohio State. We cover that great result as well as a bit of the US Team falling in the Olympics. Now the team heads to Hockey Valley and we’ll see if they can slay some ghosts.

Former Buckeye and one of our favorite guests in Paul Caponigri joined this week! We talked about the sweep of MSU. The troubles in Michigan. And of course the big weekend coming up against Ohio State.

Former Gopher goalie Eric Schierhorn joined us for the second time to give us his thoughts on the crazy goalie situation that Minnesota has found themselves in the last month. Gophers are still splitting weekends, it’s about time that they start putting a winning run of games together. They are going to need it to make the NCAA Tournament.

It was fun to have John King on the podcast for the 2nd time, at least after he fixed his Wifi issues. We got in to yet another up and down by the Gophers against Michigan. Got a bit in to what we would like to see while Faber, Knies and Meyers are gone for the Olympics. We also preview the games with Notre Dame this weekend.

A very disappointing weekend after the Gophers split with a not very good Alaska Fairbanks team. We talk about that debacle with Chris Long from KSTP TV Sports along with a preview the big weekend with Michigan.

What we thought would be a simple recap of Michigan State and preview Alaska with our guest Jess Myers… Turned in to a big news show when earlier this week Jack LaFontaine left the team to play with the Carolina Hurricanes. We cover that along with how the Gophers will pick up the pieces and keep moving forward. Just a very packed episode with goalie news, Covid, Injuries…. Oh and the team swept MSU!

I came to the conclusion during the podcast that this team needs to stop having players "be the hero". Just play smart hockey and the hero will come to you. Hopefully that starts happening this weekend! But this was a packed show as we talked about the Michigan split before the break. The cancelled World Junior Tournament. The Michigan blunder when they cancelled on Western Michigan. We even got a bit in to the exhibition games, the Michigan State series and also who from this team is expected to leave to play with Team USA for the Olympics. So a very busy episode!
